Invitation – Legal Services Board Forum on Alternative Business Structures
Please see below an invitation from David Edmonds, Chair of the Legal Services Board, for all CLC license holders and students based in Wales to attend the LSB’s Forum on Alternative Business Structures in Cardiff. If you wish to attend, please reply to the LSB as per the invite’s instructions.
Legal Services Board – Forum on Alternative Business Structures
The Legal Services Board – the new oversight regulator for all lawyers in England and Wales - invites you to an Open Forum event, focussing on the future for legal services, including conveyancing, and with a major focus on Alternative Business Structures.
The event will be held in the National Assembly for Wales, Senedd building, Cardiff Bay and will be introduced by the Counsel General of the Assembly John Griffiths AM. The Open Forum will be held on Wednesday 12 May, between 6pm-7.30pm with refreshments and registration from 5.30pm. An agenda and further information will be sent upon sign-up.

Chris Kenny, Chief Executive of the Legal Services Board
Winston Roddick QC, Leader of the Wales and Chester Circuit
Yvonne Brown, Member of the Board of the Solicitors Regulation Authority
The Legal Services Board is keen to hear both conveyancers and other professionals on their perspectives on how the new regulatory regime can best support their business model. This event, as part of a national roadshow, is your chance to have your say in shaping the LSB’s approach.

Fel y gwyddoch, fe greodd y Ddeddf Gwasanaethau Cyfreithiol gyfnod newydd i gyflawni gwasanaethau cyfreithiol, gan roi'r cyfrifoldeb i’r Bwrdd dros oruchwylio'r rheoleiddio dan arweiniad Cymdeithas y Gyfraith, Cyngor y Bar a Rheolyddion a Gymeradwywyd eraill.
Ynghyd â hyn, codwyd y cyfyngiadau ar gyfreithwyr a rhai nad ydynt yn gyfreithwyr yn mynd i bartneriaeth. Effaith hyn fydd i gyflwyno ystod o gyfleoedd i gyfreithwyr gydweithio gyda gweithwyr proffesiynol mewn sectorau eraill – er enghraifft, trwy gynnig gwasanaethau cyfreithiol ynghyd â gwasanaethau cyfrifo, treth neu yswiriant.
Mae cyfleoedd eraill yn y gyfundrefn reoleiddio newydd yn cynnwys sefydlu'r Ombwdsmon Cyfreithiol newydd, a phwyslais newydd ar amrywiaeth yn y proffesiynau.
Mae’r Bwrdd Gwasanaethau Cyfreithiol yn awyddus i glywed safbwynt cyfreithwyr a gweithwyr proffesiynol eraill ar y modd gorau i’r gyfundrefn reoleiddio newydd gefnogi eu model busnes. Mae’r digwyddiad hwn, fel rhan o daith genedlaethol, yn gyfle i chi gael dweud eich dweud o ran llunio ymagwedd y Bwrdd.
